I will say this though: I've read the third book and think that's it's even better than the first. I'll be posting my review of that book soon, but it might be worth reading the series for books 1 and 3 alone. It certainly was worth it for me! I've been meaning to read Leviathan for awhile now, because I love alternate history, but I will keep in mind these issues with the second one.
